LONG-DISTANCE HOUSE HUNTINGRegular house-hunting isn't always easy, but adding distance into the mix can present challenges you don't have when looking a few neighborhoods over for a new home.
Hey Ya'll! I have to admit I'm a first-time blogger - so bear with me as I get the hang of it but I wanted to start writing for one
If you haven't been to downtown in awhile, you are really missing out. Whether you want to shop, craft, go antiquing, take in some art, see a performance, or indulge your inner foodie - downtown has you covered. And with all of the recent announcements, I think the best is yet to come! Did you hear they are building a baseball stadium behind the Prince Charles? The Houston Astros are moving in with their minor league team and it's supposed to be done as early as 2018! I've become more interested in history the older I get, so I'm excited for the NC Civil War History Center planned near Arsenal Park. What better place for it than America's Hometown? New shops are opening everyday too- have you checked out Winterbloom Tea? It's a great little loose leaf tea shop on Hay St. It's so unique and has much, much more than just tea- the only shop in Fayetteville like it! The long time favorites are still here too, like Cameo Art House Theater and Rude Awakening Coffee Shop on Hay and Greg's Pottery on Maxwell St. It won't be long before we have our own "brew district" with Bright Light Brewery and Airborne Brewery joining Huske Hardware - all within walking distance of each other! I can't wait for the day I can tell my friends we can go take a brewery tour as an option when they visit! They'll think they've died and gone to Asheville ;)
As I write this, I'm realizing I have waayyyy more to say about this town I call home than I have time for in one post. So, I think as a summer blogging challenge to myself, I'm going to post about my favorite parts of Fayetteville. Life has been pretty hectic lately with three middle schoolers in the house and a hot real estate market so this challenge will give me the perfect excuse to get out and rediscover the "Ville that I know and love. Who's coming with me?
